Gemba Walks – Valuable, or a waste of time?

A discussion around the value of performing gemba walks and clarifying under what circumstances they should be initiated. And, some reasons they can become a non-value adding activity. Objectives: • What is the purpose of performing gemba walks? • The relationship to 4P thinking. • Why structure, flexibility and patience are foundational. Experience Level: Intermediate About our Facilitator: Stewart Bellamy is a highly motivated teacher, trainer and coach, having worked with hundreds of frontline value adders, supervisors, managers and executives at multiple sites across Canada and the USA. From the boardroom to the frontlines he works to promote and expand the involvement and engagement of people to become Lean, Visual Workplace, thinkers. Based on Lean implementation successes Stewart was invited on nine separate occasions to present at AME International and CME National/Regional Conferences. In 2010 he presented at the Visual Workplace Summit in Salt Lake City. In 2015-16 he received the Lean Sensei International - Lean Black Belt certification.
